On 24 February 2025, the President of the Czech Republic, Petr Pavel, received long-term supporters of Ukraine at Prague Castle. Along with other civil society representatives, our Executive Director, Rostislav Valvoda, and our Senior Programme Officer for Ukraine, Alina Chubko, were present.

“We are marking the third anniversary of Russia’s ‘three-day special operation,’ which did not end the way Vladimir Putin apparently imagined. Instead, the outcome was the exact opposite. And not only due to the heroism of Ukrainian soldiers but also thanks to the resilience of the entire society,” noted Czech President Petr Pavel. During the gathering, he thanked the guests for their work and for continuing to support Ukraine.

The Prague Civil Society Centre has been supporting Ukrainian civil society and independent media since Russia’s full-scale invasion in February 2022. Our support has ranged from emergency grants in the weeks and months following the invasion to core support to Ukrainian national and local media. Our partners represent the full spectrum of the country’s civil society and include initiatives that provide critical support to people, document war crimes, and advocate Ukraine’s cause internationally.
