The Prague Civil Society Centre is a non-profit organisation supporting and empowering civil society and independent media in Eastern and Central Europe, the Caucasus, and Central Asia. As a Grants Officer, you will support the Eastern Europe section of the Grants team. Under the supervision of the Senior Programme Officer, you will oversee a particular country, region, or thematic portfolio.

Tasks and responsibilities:

The Grants Officer ensures smooth project management throughout the entire lifecycle (assessment, contracting, processing payments, monitoring, reporting project results, and close out), in particular:

  • Tracking project implementation and regularly updating the grant-making database to ensure that the projects are on track and all data is timely and properly stored
  • Acting as point of contact for partners, i.e. liaising with grantees regarding changes to the project design, budget, and/or timeline, and processing of payments
  • Overseeing an internal evaluation of grants outcomes
  • Ensuring comprehensive and audit-ready files are maintained up to date and available for the country team/audit purposes
  • Performing other tasks related to the grants implementation communication with partners

Qualifications and requirements:

  • Minimum of two years of work experience in a relevant field (grant making, project administration, or project management) is required
  • Diligent and accurate approach to work, attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks
  • Proficiency in English and Russian (spoken and written)
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in MS Word and Excel, and cybersecurity literacy
  • A team player eager to support colleagues and the organisation’s mission
  • Candidate should be based in Czechia, or have access to the Czech labour market

The starting salary for this position is CZK 45,000 for full-time employment (40 hours per week).
