About the role:
As a Programme Officer, you’ll support the Eastern Europe section of the Grants team and be responsible for the operational management of a programme and grant portfolio. Under the supervision of the Programme Manager, you’ll ensure smooth implementation throughout the entire grantmaking cycle whilst developing a strong relationship with grantees and contributing with your operational insights to the strategic planning of the portfolio.
Key responsibilities:
- Programme implementation: Ensuring day-to-day operation of the portfolio, including managing the budget, organisation of the selection process, and risk monitoring.
- Grants management: Contracting, processing payments, monitoring the implementation, reviewing narrative and financial reports, and evaluating results. Regularly updating the grant-making database to ensure that all data is timely and properly stored.
- Partnership building: Acting as a point of contact for grantees, providing guidance on procedural, operational and reporting requirements, while fostering strong relationship with the partner.
- Expertise: Building programme specific expertise and sharing it internally within the organisation to strengthen cross-programme collaboration as well as the Centre’s outreach efforts, including contributing to reporting to our donors.
- Documentation and records keeping: Ensuring comprehensive and audit-ready files are maintained up to date and available for the audit purposes.
- Performing other tasks related to the grant implementation and communication with partners.
Core competencies:
- A minimum of two years of experience in a relevant field (grant making, project administration, or project management)
- Diligent and accurate approach to work, attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks
- Proficiency in English and Russian (spoken and written)
- Strong computer skills, particularly in MS Word and Excel
- A team player eager to support colleagues and the organisation’s mission
- Adaptable and able to effectively manage change
- Candidate should be based in Czechia, or have access to the EU labour market

The salary is based on the Prague Civil Society Centre’s salary scale, with an expected gross monthly range of 45,000–55,000 CZK for a full-time position (40 hours per week), depending on skills and experience.
